Welcome to WOMA at Lafayette Elementary
The West Oakland Music Academy (WOMA) at Lafayette Elementary School is inspired by President Obama's educational "Restart Model" as a full-service community hub of services. WOMA will transform Lafayette Elementary School into a place of innovative musical and cognitive development using research-based pedagogy and best practices that produce high levels of student achievement.
Our mission is to infuse best instructional practices with music integration. WOMA embraces the cultural diversity and music history of West Oakland. Our goal is to nurture students so they develop academic skills, proficiency across disciplines, and excellence in performance.
The WOMA learning community aspires to nurture, empower, transform, and educate its students, the future generation of leaders, through rigorous integration of the arts and sciences through MILE and STEM.
